great idea everyone! I love the idea of this blog. We wish we could have scene all of you in January:( Wish we could have been there.! I'll forward this to Greg and I'll tell him about it. Cause otherwise he might not see the e-mail. We all live in Maine so you know we might like other places, but Maine is beautiful!

I like the idea of all inclusive as well. I have to say my family went on a 10 day disney cruise this past summer and it was absolutely top notch. There were several family reunion groups on board. They all got to sit together at dinner. Some did excursions together, some did not. I was suprised at how the "disney" part of it appealed to all different ages. They had teen clubs, a great kids club , (my kids didn't want to ever leave)the food was great, the entertainment was incredible, they even have a whole pool section that is adults only and adult only bars. I didn't vote for it because I was afraid the cost might deter some people. I am sure if we decide that is what we want to do we could get a hefty group discount. And we have a year and a half to save up.
My concern with disney world or universal is that we would all be going in a million different directions and never get to just hang out.
We have been to the outer banks before and it is beautiful! There is a lot to do. If we are wanting to do a beach house I think the cost would be a lot less in the gulf coast of Florida. I just looked up some houses for rent in the outerbanks and they are expensive. The house we rented in Corrola was several thousand dollars for a week. But I am sure with some more research we could find some deals.
We have vacationed in Seacrest, Florida which is between Destin and Panama City. It is close to both so you have the advantages of a bigger town with lots of stuff to do and good shopping but it is a small town, so the beach is not crowded. My family and some friends are going down there again this June and renting a house that will cost each family $750 for an entire week. It is a brand new house and is in a cute neighborhood right across the street from the beach. The neighborhood has several pools, tennis courts etc. I can send you all a link to the website if anyone is interested. It would be neat because we could all get houses near each other.
Ok, enough of my rambling. Jarrett is out of town and the kids are asleep so I had nothing better to do. ~Kathy

Thanks for the jab Steve! We have traveled some but it is because we love to do it and make memories for the kids. Please send some other ideas if you have them. These are all just preliminary ideas. It is everyones trip so don't hold back your thoughts and ideas.
I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I really don't want to go on a cruise. Like I'd do just about anything to campaign for just about anything else. Don't hate me!
Has anybody seen any of the photos that "email beth" took from our recent visit to Valdosta? I sure would like to see everyones pics since I didn't take any!! Any new ideas for the vacation in 09?
I just heard the word that we have a new Howard cousin to include in this reunion. Congratulations to Karen, Pat, Nicole and Matthew and welcome to new baby Landry!
